JOURNEY TOGETHER WITH CELESTIVAL

with celestival

Experiences are best when shared – a common sentiment and a wholehearted truth around these parts. Conscious growth, after all, depends not only on deep introspection but also on our ability to share what we’ve learned with our community so we can magnify our personal strides exponentially. This is our core, our ethos, our mission and we absolutely adore sharing it with experience makers who just get it.

Cue: Celeste Iuul, founder of Celestival. An experiment in communal living, Celestival is a one-of-a-kind event that brings together the most awe-inspiring healers, performers, natural landscapes, friends, and families for a “celestival event meets festival” – AKA an experience that’s wildly uplifting and grounding.

We sat down with Celeste to talk about the next Celestival that’s popping up in Joshua Tree this March. We’re excited to share her vision with you for this community and we look forward to journeying together, very soon.

How would you describe Celestival to someone who's never heard of it?

Imagine a weekend protected by pure energies.  Imagine your family tribe dancing, playing and experiencing that spiritual kind of medicine.  Imagine leaving the weekend feeling bright, focus, conscious and connected. Imagine the kind of weekend that leads us to find our own answers.

Celestival is a celebration for those seeking a deeper connection to nature, self and community.  With the stars as our backdrop, we reconnect to our innate sense of exploration and intuition so that we can re-enter our everyday lives with imagination, innovation and purpose. Celestival is a spiritual playground where you can let go, be immersed in art, music, dance, healing and all that makes one feel alive and free.

What is it about communal living that draws you in?

In our modern society where material possessions are easy to come by, what we are truly lacking is intimacy, community, identity and a sense of purpose that is greater than our own.  The need for human connection and community is very primal, as fundamental as the need for air, water and food.

As Helen Keller said:  "Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light, as alone we can do so little, but together we can do so much".

Celestival is about the importance of connection with oneself, introspection and the essence of happiness, listening to and respecting the natural environment.

We bring together minds that never stop questioning our current realities as we know that our child-like curiosity leads us to our inherent greatness, and reminds us to always listen to our instincts. We are a collective of creators, designers, artists, musicians and a multitude of archetypes bound by the desire to create and live life in tune with nature’s rhythms. We desire to manifest magic connection through music, arts and community.

We invite our guests to join us for a weekend of storytelling and human connections, a chance to get to know the creative mind and dreamer within oneself and within their community.

Why did you choose Joshua Tree as the location for this event?

Joshua Tree is a quick getaway from Los Angeles, a 2-hour drive and you are in a desert sanctuary where the lands are raw and heavy, with red rock formations and obscure shapes that are still untouched and naked with real energy.

Joshua Tree is situated on a very powerful magnetic vortex which acts as an energy amplifier.  When standing in a vortex, the energy will magnify what we bring to it on a physical, mental, emotional or spiritual level.  The energy can deepen our own intuition, allowing us to gain unexpected insight, heighten feelings of joy, and lead us to gain a greater understanding of who we are and where we are going.

What are you looking forward to most about the next Celestival?

I am looking forward to the traditional Native American dancing at sunrise, eating gorgeous organic and locally sourced food for lunch, exploring the depths of wild painting and mystikal experiences in the afternoon, and winding down under the stars with music, exploration and that sense of pure freedom that one feels when in a protected environment, amongst beautiful accepting souls.

I am looking forward to seeing the children run uninhibited and without distraction.  To see the curiosity light up in their eyes and the warmth of their glow by the night’s fire.
